One. Reason for the plan:
After ten years of development of Nanke park, all related industries grew very fast and created high value for Taiwan along with numerous jobs and opportunities for development for greater Tainan area. However, with rapid growth of related industries, it brings great amount of vehicles and poses serious traffic problems for specific areas of Nanke. In order to enhance efficiency of transportation and increase competitiveness for the industry, the city government has been actively applying for subsidies from the central government to establish "a system of access roads around specific areas in Nanke", including "the first phase of north beltway for Tainan metropolitan area", "extension of Nanke access road from National Highway No. 8 to Provincial Highway No. 1", "under-bridge road for Shalun high speed rail station in Xinhua", and "construction of a westbound access road for Nanke", to ease the traffic jam from Xingangshe Boulevard to Provincial Highway No. 1 and improve the bottlenck on southwest-bound direction (Anping, An'nan, Yongkang, and Rende) from Nanke Special Zone.
Two. Benefits of the project:
1. Ease the traffic jam from Xingangshe Boulevard to Provincial Highway No. 1 and improve the bottleneck on southwest-bound direction (Anping, An'nan, Yongkang, and Rende) from Nanke Special Zone.
2. In cooperation with the construction of north beltway for Tainan metropolitan area, it will quickly link up the under-bridge road for Shalun station, partly forming the beltway network in Tainan metropolitan area and effectively enhancing the efficiency of traffic for the metropolitan area.
